Request for Concrete Bids
The North Dickinson County School is accepting bids until 12:00 p.m. Monday June 27th, 2022 at the school office from qualified, licensed, insured contractors for the construction of a concrete base for a chimney/stack and concrete slab. At which time the bids will be opened and read aloud. Bids received after 12 noon local time on Monday June 27th, 2022 will not be opened or considered.
All bids that are received and accepted will be opened and reviewed by the district administration and a recommendation will be determined by the administration and will be presented to the School Board at its regularly scheduled monthly meeting Monday July 11th, 2022 at the North Dickinson County School High School Library at 6:00 p.m. central time.
The North Dickinson County School board reserves the right to accept or reject in whole or in part any and all bids. The district reserves the exclusive right to award a bid that is in its sole opinion the most advantageous to the district.
Drawings, sketches project information, specifications, bid forms and terms can be obtained by visiting the districts web site: www.go-nordics.com click on Mis.Menu/Bids/Concrete. The contractor is responsible to determine actual dimensions and material, labor, parts, tools and equipment required for the completion of the project prior to bidding. The bid submitted shall provide for all necessary permits, inspections, labor, parts, equipment, tools, materials, disposal and site cleanup needed to complete the project. The project must be completed including completion of the required minimum 10 day cure time for the concrete so that the base is ready and available to install the new chimney/stack no later than September 1st, 2022.
The board requires each bidder to file with the board security in an amount not less than 1/20 of the amount of the bid conditioned to secure the school district from loss or damage by reason of the withdrawal of the bid or by the failure of the bidder to enter a contract for performance, if the bid is accepted by the board.
A family relationship between a bidder and a member of the school board or superintendent does not prohibit a company from bidding, however; as required by the Revised School Code, a sworn notarized Disclosure of Family Relationship must be included or a bid cannot be considered by the school district.
Work can begin on the project after approval of bid award is given by the school board and contract documents are executed and received by the district.
Shall agree to the standard terms and conditions required of contractors regarding the workers, employees and conduct of them while working at a public school.
Work shall be conducted and completed in a safe efficient, professional manner and shall not interfere with the operations of the school. Work shall be coordinated and scheduled with the school district’s Director of Support Services. Mr. Darrell Oman.
