N.D. High School Physics

| The North Dickinson high school science
teacher is Mr. Mattson. This years physics class has a total of 14 students
and one teacher's aide. The class consists of 13 seniors and 1 junior. To the right are some of the most well known physics equations that we learned! Also on the right you can see the awesome "cheat Triangle" as we called it. Any one of the variables in the triangle can be solved for by placing an equal sign after it, and looking at the 2 remaining variables. For example: m=F/a......F=m*a......and a=F/m
This last formula to the right can be used to find the force that is acting between 2 planets! Or between Jupiter and one of its moons, as seen below.
|
F=m*a
(F=force)=(m=mass)*(a=acceleration)
V=a*t
(V=velocity)=(a=acceleration)*(t=time)
F=(G*m*M)/d^2 (F=Force)=[(G=universal constant of gravitation)*(m=mass 1)*(M=mass 2)]/ (d=distance)^2 G is the universal constant of gravitation. As described in its name, G is always the same, constant number. G= 6.67 x 10^(-11) [N x (m)^2] / (kg)^2
