Bienvenue !

           Welcome to Madame Santoni's

                    World!

FRENCH  I    The beginning of learning a new language and exposure to             France's culture.  Students link this awareness to their own  language and culture.  Making oneself understood and understanding basic conversational expressions in a second language is the goal.

FRENCH  II  Continuation of realizing the global influence of the French language and culture while increasing the ability to communicate, read, write and understand the language.

ENGLISH  9  This class is a must to receive a N.D. diploma. Students are introduced to writing a research paper, Romeo and Juliet,  Homer's Odyssey, and continue reading short stories, reading for information, and writing various types of essays.

ENGLISH  8   Middle school !  High energy!  English...their favorite time of the day! The Horse and His Boy from The Chronicles of Narnia -- what a read!  Spelling and vocabulary, yes, it's every week.  Short stories--let's make one into a skit and film it ("The Landlady").  Reading for information--"That's interesting, I didn't know that."  We're writing different types of essays--we must back up our ideas with details and/or facts.  I want to know about the Holocaust so I'll make a scrapbook while reading The Diary of Anne Frank.  We have time to read another novel.  How about Star Girl?  Wow! The year went by fast!
