Parent Compact
It is important to have my child reach his/her full academic potential and succeed. Therefore, I will encourage him/her by doing the following items that are checked:
_____ see that my child attends school regularly and is punctual.
_____ supervise the completion of my child's homework according to the teacher's guidelines
_____ read progress reports and discuss them with the teacher, attend at least one parent/teacher conference either at the regularly-scheduled conference or at a convenient time to be arranged between the parent and teacher
_____ communicate expectations for my child's education to the teacher and notify the teacher of any significant events or changes in my child's life
_____ model respect by going to the teacher first about any concerns, trying to keep the lines of communication open, and understanding that there are two sides to every issue
_____ monitor both the amount of time my child spends online and the content viewed
_____ monitor both the amount of time my child spends watching television and the content viewed
_____ encourage daily reading at home

I believe that it is important that I work to the best of my ability. Therefore, I will:

Teacher Compact
The teachers/staff at North Dickinson County School believe that students must be given the opportunity to succeed. Therefore, they will do the following:
· provide a safe and caring learning environment
· follow the curriculum designed by the State of Michigan
· take into account individual strengths in children
· help the children follow the school and classroom rules
· keep the parents informed of their child's progress on a regular basis
