Elementary School Parent Compact

I will do my personal best to:

· supervise the completion of my child's homework according to the teacher's guidelines

· read progress reports and discuss them with the teacher, attend at least one parent/teacher conference either at the regularly-scheduled conference or at a convenient time to be arranged between the parent and teacher

· communicate expectations for my child's education to the teacher and notify the teacher of any significant events or changes in my child's life

· monitor both the amount of time my child spends with television and the type of programs watched

I will do my person best to do at least one of the following:

· attend at least two school functions / assemblies

· volunteer as a classroom helper

· eat lunch at school with my child at least two times per year

· prepare materials for the teacher on my own time at home

· share a special skill or activity with my child's class

Elementary Student Compact

I will do my personal best to:

	attend school regularly
	return my completed homework on time
	follow the school and classroom rules
	respect my teacher, fellow students, and other people at school and in the community
	keep my parents informed of school activities and class projects

Elementary Teacher Compact

I will do my personal best to:

provide a safe and caring learning environment where each child will learn to be responsible for his/her own behavior and learning
follow curriculum designed to meet the needs of the children and make this curriculum known to the parent
take into account individual strengths in children
help the children follow the school and classroom rules
keep the parents informed of their child's progress on a regular basis
communicate to the parent my expectations for the student and the parent (homework assignments, classroom behavior, etc.)
schedule parent/teacher conferences to accommodate parents' schedules
attend school functions
teach in all areas of intelligences
assign homework and review/record the return of homework
